EHC Red Bull München: Goaltending coach Patrick Dallaire is leaving
With Dallaire’s departure, Munich ice hockey is losing a key figure in the development of its goalies. In addition, the 51-year-old was, alongside former coach Don Jackson, the only member of the coaching staff to have witnessed and helped shape all four of EHC Red Bull München's DEL championships in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2023.
Since 2014, Dallaire has been responsible for goalie training for the Munich professional team. In addition, he was an integral part of the coaching staff as a video coach. During his time with Red Bull München, he worked with numerous national and international goalies and supported their athletic development over many years.
A total of 17 years with the organization
Dallaire has also enjoyed success at the international level. As goalkeeper coach for the German national team, he was part of the coaching staff that won the silver medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
Before moving to Munich, Dallaire had already served as head goaltending coach for EC Red Bull Salzburg from 2009 to 2014. This brings his total time with the Red Bull hockey organization to 17 years.
Winkler: “Patrick will remain a part of the club’s history”
Christian Winkler, Managing Director of Sports at Red Bull Ice Hockey, says: “Patrick is one of the people who have helped shape our organization over many years. Anyone who wins four championships with a club and is part of the Red Bull family for a total of 17 years leaves their mark. His work with our goalies was outstanding, and just as important was his approach in his daily interactions with players and staff. We’re happy that this opportunity in North America is now opening up for him. Patrick will always remain a part of our club’s history.”
Patrick Dallaire explains: “I came for a year, and then it turned into a long journey. I’ll miss the whole environment and all the people I’ve worked with here, including everyone around the team. I was really lucky here to work with very good goalies who are also great people. I felt like a part of the club. For all of that, I’m very, very grateful to the organization.”
EHC Red Bull München would like to express its sincere gratitude to Dallaire for his meticulous work, his level-headed and constructive approach, and his lasting contribution to the development of numerous goalies during his many years with the club. The club wishes him and his family all the best for the future in North America, both personally and professionally
