EHC Red Bull München signs Lukas Klok from EHC Kloten

Red Bull München signs defenseman Lukas Klok// NEWSEHC Red Bull München has signed Lukas Klok for the 2026–27 season. The 31-year-old defenseman is moving to Munich from the Swiss top-division club EHC Kloten.
Because he holds both Czech and German citizenship, Klok will not count toward the DEL roster’s import quota.
With more than 600 professional games under his belt, appearances at the Olympics and World Championships, and experience in six top European leagues, Klok strengthens the defense of the four-time German champions. Among the left-handed shooter’s greatest achievements is winning the Finnish championship with Lukko Rauma in the 2020–21 season. In addition, the defenseman has gained experience in the KHL, the Swiss National League, the Swedish SHL, and the AHL.
Klok runs into two familiar faces
Klok also has an impressive international record. The defenseman has played 41 international games for the Czech national team, including appearances at the 2021 World Championship in Latvia and the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. He has also made 21 Champions League appearances for two different clubs. Most recently, Klok played 44 games for EHC Kloten in the Swiss National League, racking up nine points. During his time with Rögle BK and SC Bern, he already played alongside Munich strikers Brady Ferguson and Dominik Kahun.
Neville Rautert, Managing Director of Sports at EHC Red Bull München: “Lukas is a very well-rounded and versatile defenseman with extensive international experience and a track record at the highest European level. He stands out for his strong skating and his ability to move the play forward in a controlled and effective manner. With his qualities, he fits very well into our system.”
Lukas Klok: “The Red Bulls organization is known for its high ambitions, professionalism, and commitment to competing for titles every year. That aligns with my own goals. I already know two players from my previous clubs: Dominik and Brady. Both are strong personalities and excellent teammates, so I’m looking forward to seeing them again. I’ll bring my experience to the table, take on responsibility, and fight for titles with the team—that’s what motivates me, and I’m really looking forward to it.”
