Countdown underway: Red Bulls Salute to be “first test”Top-class field of participants// RED BULLS SALUTEIn 10 days, it's game time: Red Bull Salute is happening in Zell am See-Kaprun from August 22 to 23. Before the international invitational tournament kicks off, Christian Winkler takes a look at what's ahead.
First held in Salzburg in 2005, our tourism partner Zell am See-Kaprun is hosting Red Bull Salute for the third consecutive year. In addition to EHC Red Bull München, this year's participants include EC Red Bull Salzburg, top Swedish team Rögle BK, and Champions League participant EV Zug.
10 days to go: Christian Winkler looks forward to a promising tournament
Alongside Salzburg, EHC Red Bull München has been one of the two permanent host teams of the tournament since 2017. In our debut year and again in 2019, we were able to bring the trophy to Munich. As part of the season opener on Saturday, Christian Winkler also discussed the upcoming dress rehearsal in the context of Red Bull Salute.
"We have a very interesting preparation program. With the two test matches against SC Bern (August 14 | 7:00 p.m.) and EV Zug (August 16 | 5:00 p.m.), we want to prepare as best we can for the Red Bulls Salute. Four top European teams will be participating in our in-house tournament: Salzburg, Rögle, Zug, and Munich," said the Managing Director of Sport Red Bull Ice Hockey.

First test amid various upheavals
It's not just our Red Bulls who have undergone upheaval in recent months. Rögle BK will be relying on Dan Tangnes as their new head coach in the future. Michael Liniger is also new behind the EVZ bench and wants to build on successful times with high-caliber new signings.
Looking ahead to the opponents, Winkler is euphoric: “I expect four high-class games in Zell am See-Kaprun.” It will be a first test for our Red Bulls. “All teams will try to set the bar as high as possible,” Winkler makes clear.
That was the Red Bulls Salute 2024
